The Ettatorial for the Week of 3-25-09

A large week of releases this week, with the quality of the week surprisingly high.  While some titles disappointed (Thunderbolts comes to mind, though maybe that was due to the expectations from the previous past few months quality releases), most books were genuinely enjoyable.  But, while there were so many good releases, only one rose [...]

Project Silence Podcast 41: Lots of Reviews

This episodes title is not meant to be clever, or a pun in any way, so don’t try and figure it out. It’s a slow time for news and there are lots of movies to be watched (and reviewed!) in nearly a month without podcasts,  but we are back and those movies shall be reviewed. [...]

The Ettatorial for the Week of 3-18-09

A small but worthwhile week of releases, as half of my purchases made the grade for picks of the week.  Two out of four isn’t bad, especially when the others weren’t bad, just not as good as my picks.  On with the show. First up this week is Amazing Spider-Man Extra #3.  A quick side [...]

Etta’s Shades

When Etta’s Wife bought sunglasses for their baby daughter, we naturally decided they would look better on him.

Michael Bay Hates You, Your Childhood and The Transformers Too

And I hate Michael Bay. Please don’t go see this movie. How do you have an old robot with a beard? Granted any Michael Bay film contains very little, “plot” so it requires even less, “explanation”, but this is stretching, even for the guy that made Armageddon. Jetfire Via Geek Tyrant.

Movies

Thank You, Netflix, For Sending Me A DVD and Keeping My Dollar

I recently received the J. Michael Stryzinski written film, The Changeling on DVD from Netflix. As great as that is, since it’s the movie I ordered, a DVD was not the format I had requested. I had requested a Blu-ray, because I have a Blu-ray player. I was quite willing to pay Netflix the hefty [...]

The Ettatorial for the Week of 3-11-09

A super small week of releases for yours truly, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a pick of the week for you. The pick for this week is Ex Machina Special #4.  A nice one-off story involving Mayor Hundred’s “first” adventure as the Great Machine, and it’s effects on his now current role as New [...]

The Ettatorial for the Week of 3-4-09

A very strong week of releases this week, making the decision for the picks of the week much more difficult.  A few came very close, with Daredevil’s Kingpin-centric story so close, but just missing the mark, and Deadpool would have made it had it actually advanced the story rather the the illusion of doing so.  [...]

The Ettatorial for the Week of 2-25-09

A decent week of releases this week, making for some good reading.  As a side note though, I wish Marvel would stagger their release schedule for the Avengers family of titles, as this week had 3 of the 4 all coming out.  While I love the books, I truly wish I could have maybe one [...]
