The Ettatorial for the Week of 6-23-10
A decent sized week this week, with a pretty even quality level across the board. The surprise though, comes in the fact that for the second week in a row, the same title gets the nod for book of the … Continue reading
Toy Story 3 Movie Review
Woody, Buzz Lightyear and several others of Andy’s fondly remembered playthings are back for this go around…but they’re not all back. Time, age and wear has meant that some of the beloved toys didn’t make it this far. Andy is now 17 and headed off to college in just a few days. When we catch up with the gang, they’re executing one last, desperate attempt to get Andy to play with them one more time. Despite their best efforts, it fails, and they then face an uncertain future and difficult questions: do they submit to storage in the attic, or do they take their chances as donated toys at a local daycare? The Ettatorial for the Week of 6-16-10
A so-so week of releases this week, with an odd occurrence in a publishing schedule (two issues of Amazing Spider-Man in one week), another Avengers book, and another issue of Brightest Day that makes me ask if I like the … Continue reading
Project Silence Podcast 48: Welcome Back, Mr. Anderson
The Project Silence Podcast goes back to it’s roots as Jay Alan & Jason Walter welcome Brian Anderson to the show in a [futile] attempt at classing the joint up. Featuring reviews of Get Him to the Greek, True Blood … Continue reading
Prepare to CARE, Muthaf*#%@s!
This might be one of the greatest ideas I’ve ever seen. Certainly the best remake of an 80′s cartoon. If they really made it, I’d go see it. Twice. Continue reading
The Ettatorial for the Week of 6-9-10
A decent sized week of releases this week, though made smaller for yours truly due to the sell-out of Batman #700 and Astonishing X-Men Xenogenesis #2. While that bummed me out, that left some good books, and while I wanted … Continue reading
Rock Band 3 Unveiled, World Improves
We’re all pretty big fans of Rock Band here at Project Silence (well, except Etta, he hates fun), so the announcement of Rock Band 3 is a pretty big deal. Once again it looks like Harmonix is doing what they … Continue reading
What Happens When BP Spills Coffee?
For the most part we’ve avoided the whole BP oil spill thing here on Project Silence. What is there to say about it, honestly? Is BP to blame? Yup. Are they doing enough to help fix their mistake? Nope. We’ve … Continue reading
The Ettatorial for the Week of 6-2-10
A small week of releases this week, but there was still enough to motivate me for a pick of the week. A guilty pleasure, to be sure, but still a book that deserves a bit of attention. Your pick this … Continue reading
Project Silence Podcast 47: Two Walters are Better than One?
It’s the 47th incarnation of the Project Silence Podcast and Jay Alan and Jason Walter finally have their first of (hopefully) many guest stars, Jeff Walter. Movie reviews of Shrek Forever After, Robin Hood, Crazy Heart, The Hurt Locker, more … Continue reading
