Major Richard D. Winters, the central character and the inspiration for the book and HBO mini-series “Band of Brothers” died recently at age 92 after a long fight with Parkinson’s disease.
Winters was a true American Hero and lead some of the toughest, bravest men who ever lived into battle against impossible odds. He parachuted into France on D-Day, fought at the Battle of the Bulge and personally captured the famed “Eagle’s Nest” in Germany. Continue reading

It appears a naked man, riding a bicycle, was arrested last night in Cedar Rapids (you can read the official story HERE). The area he was found in just happens to be roughly the same place Jay and I had our infamous encounter with a “Bike Man” some 15 years ago. I know comics-related news usually fall under “Etta’s” domain, but this was just too huge for me to ignore. According to this post over at Newsarama.com, Disney enterainment will acquire Marvel Comics Entertainment and all of its over 2,000 comic book characters (including Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, etc.) in a large stock and cash transaction.
