Jimmy Fallon to Replace Conan O’Brien on Late Night
We here at Project Silence are all pretty big fans of Conan O’Brien, and his move to The Tonight Show was seen as a great piece of news. Today, a news story was posted on Yahoo News and since removed, but while the story was online it let everyone know that once Conan leaves Late Night, there is no longer any reason to watch:
Fallon, 33, co-starred on “SNL” for six seasons, and co-hosted its “Weekend Update” segment. He left the show to focus on making features, although such efforts as “Fever Pitch” and “Taxi” fell flat at the box office.
Fallon’s new gig as “Late Night” host stems from a development deal he signed with NBC in early 2007. He will probably stay at O’Brien’s Studio 6A at New York’s 30 Rock, although details have not been confirmed.
I have no idea why this was removed from Yahoo, but since NBC doesn’t want to make the announcement until the 12th, perhaps they asked nice (you know, with lawyers) and Yahoo pulled the story. Or perhaps (hopefully) the saw the instant disappointment on the Internet and fired Fallon already.
I can’t believe how lucky I was to find a photo of Conan and Jimmy together, I thought for sure I would have to Photoshop one.
