Better Late Than Never: The Watchmen Trailer
On Wednesday Jason, Etta and I went to see The Dark Knight. Probably the most exhilarating two minutes of the entire experience (other than the disappearing pencil trick) was the Watchmen trailer. Directed by Zac Snyder (of 300 fame) Watchmen looks like it will truly bring to life the classic story by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons
I’ve always thought that it couldn’t be, and shouldn’t be, done, but it seems that Mr. Snyder is as much a fan of the book as the rest of us, as every shot in the trailer is basically a frame from the book itself (right down to The Twin Towers appearing behind Night Owl’s ship, showing it’s still set in the 80’s like it has to be). I’m sure the trailer was done this way on purpose and we all know how misleading a simple two minute trailer can be, but here’s hoping.
