Iron Man Trailer Released

I honestly have no idea what to make of the new Iron Man movie. When I first heard of it, my initial reaction was scepticism, how could you possibly bring Iron Man to the big screen in a believable fashion? Plus, Ghost Rider was total and utter crap, would Iron Man receive the same treatment? As one of my personal favorite Marvel characters, he deserved better, but I had little reason to hope.
Then the original images leaked out. I think they shocked everyone by staying so true to the Iron Man look (something I thought impossible). Maybe this film had a chance, the images were certainly bad-ass.
Now the trailer is available and I have no idea what to think. Some elements look Ghost Rider bad, some look pretty good. The suit looks even better in motion than I would have ever thought. Could Iron Man have a shot at being not only decent, but great? I still have serious doubts, but at least there is room for hope.

I have high hopes for this one (Ghost Rider never even had a chance, little own my vote going into it) and judging by the trailer and the promo materials available, its going to be good. Perfect casting, a decent director who cares about the source materials, awesome (if not better) Special effects and a compelling character all lead me to believe it will be a success.
I have to agree with Etta on this one. What in that trailer still gives you “serious doubts”? I thought it looked incredible! Robert Downey Jr. looks and acts the part of a rich, sarcastic Tony Stark (he even had a glass of scotch in his hand in one scene if you look closely!). The special (and practical) effects look absolutley stunning and you can’t tell me that when Black Sabbath started playing in the background it didn’t make you smile just a little bit!
I’m no Jon Favreau fan, but I think this film has far more potential than Ghost Rider ever did simply because of the title character’s depth (and also, Ghost Rider did have Nicholas Cage,so it stood little chance from the beginning!). I think next Summer we’ll all be treated to the one-two superhero punch of “Iron Man” followed up by “The Dark Knight”. Here’s hoping…
