According to an article over at ign.com (view it here), Marvel Studios has officially announced Guardians of the Galaxy as their tentpole release for summer 2014.
Suffice to say I’m flabbergasted. I couldn’t have been more shocked if they had announced a Sleepwalker movie with 8-Ball as the villain. I guess Jay and I owe Cory an apology (he SWORE this was happening and we called him an overenthusiastic geek-boy). Just goes to show you what $600 million in domestic gross will buy you. Personally, I think they should have saved up and bought the movie rights to the X-Men and Spider-Man back, then have one HUGE crossover movie with EVERY Marvel hero, ever.
