The Flash and Green Lantern Hitting the Big Screen

    By Jay Alan | October 29, 2007

flashgreenlantern.jpgNews has come out that The Flash will be getting a movie directed by David Dobkin of Wedding Crashers and Shanghai Knights fame and Green Lantern will be directed by Greg Berlanti (The Broken Hearts Cube). Not a lot of experience from either of these directors, but DC and WB sure are getting a lot of big name superhero movies going, with JLA and Superman and Batman sequels also coming.

I have dreamed of a Green Lantern movie for as long as I can remember (being a childhood favorite of mine), but I always thought the budget would have to be enormous to get it right. Lots of space shots and massive green effects don’t come cheap, but in the world of CGI it’s probably finally doable. Word is GL will be based on Hal Jordon (I’d rather have Kyle Rayner, but you can’t have it all), and no word on which Flash will wear the costume, but here’s hopping for Wally West.
