Watchmen Movie Character Photos

In celebration of one year until the Watchmen movie release, WB has released promotional stills of many of the characters. I dare say Zac Snyder looks to have another hit on his hands. I’ve said it before, but I think Zac is the right guy to finally pull off the movie that couldn’t be made.
Here we are, officially one year and counting until the release of Watchmen on 03.06.09. Being a fan that follows production blogs, I know that the time a film is in post can often seem like an eternity with interesting bits of information few and far between. So to help pass the time, here is your first look at some of the Watchmen characters.

I only wish we had a look at Dr. Manhattan, I’ll be very curious as to how they pull that one off. While most of the characters have minor changes to their costumes to make them more modern, I certainly think they captured the spirit of the originals. If there is one thing to complain about, it’s that everyone seems very young, particularly Ozymandias. Click the jump for the remaining pictures.

I agree. While some of these pics look pretty cool (the Comedian and Nite Owl are exceptional!), the Silk Spectre and Ozymandias are waaayyy too young. This is a story about heroes who past their prime long ago and while I can appreciate that the studios need to market this to as large an audience as possible, I just don’t buy Adrian Veidt portrayed by someone who looks like he stepped off the set of Dawson’s Creek.
Hopefully the script and direction will make up for these misscastings.
