    Microsoft Announces Free Game: Undertow

    By Jay Alan | January 22, 2008

A few weeks ago Microsoft promised a free game to Live users for all the problems experienced during the Christmas and New Years holidays. The decided upon free game will be Undertow, an underwater shooter that looks about as much fun as a bad episode of SeaQuest DSV. It’s a shame Microsoft couldn’t just give us all 800 points and let us pick a game we actually wanted, but Undertow was a total flop, and this is one way to get people to try it. Download it for free from Wednesday through Sunday.

Let me just say, as a person who actually downloaded the trial of the game and played it-this is almost worse than Live being down. Undertow was crap, and after playing it once, it was deleted from my hard drive. I would have taken just about any game for free over this. It sucks worse than Darwin’s blow hole on Lucas on said bad episode of Seaquest.

Yeah…this really makes up for the problems, Microsoft.

Personally, I’d (almost) rather watch an episode of Seaquest DSV than play this abomination. I’d never even heard of this game before now! It’s kind of like a fine steakhouse ruining your steak and then offering you a .99 cent McDonalds value burger for compensation.
