Test Drive Unlimited 2?
I don’t normally post rumors on this site, I’ll reserve that for the thousands of shitty celebrity sites, but when I hear a rumor about a possible sequel to Test Drive Unlimited, I just have to talk about it.
TDU is the best game you didn’t play. Thousands of miles of open road in a virtual recreation of Oahu (Hawaii), hundreds of cars that all look and feel very different, seemingly infinite exploration and racing challenges, I can go on and on about how much I love this game. It has become my second favorite racing game of all time (after the original Need for Speed, the version on 3DO, not the junky Playstation or PC ports).
Online play where you can drive with others in the game from around the world. This is the one thing that let me down. There should be thousands of people driving around the virtual Oahu at anytime, yet I rarely see more than 2 or 3. That has always lead me to believe sales of this game aren’t what they should be. If you enjoy racing games and massively open environments, I should see you on the streets. Yet I don’t.
If this rumor holds true, I honestly hope more people jump in and enjoy this series. It’s the only thing that can make me (a big fan) enjoy it even more.
