New Harry Potter DVD to Include Digital Versions
PC and portable device compatible versions of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix are to be included directly on the disc. Warner Bros. hasn’t said which portable devices (surely it will be iPod compatible) or what PC’s (probably no Mac or Linux support) will be supported, but kudos to them for being a bit forward thinking on this, even if the files are likely to be heavily DRM’ed.
Although details are scarce as to how this will work, it’s a forward thinking idea, and a small acknowledgment that people still want Fair Use capabilities, rather than having to buy the same movie two or even three times.
