Democrats Shun Colbert
By Jay Alan | November 3, 2007
South Carolina Democratic Officials denied Colbert a spot on the Ballet. I call BS.
Colbert filed the necessary paperwork and paid a $2,500 fee to get on the ballot, but the state party had final say over whether his name could appear, according to the Associated Press.
Colbert also shunned the Republican party by refusing to pay the ridiculous fee, he also added the single most quotable thing any presidential hopeful has ever said:
”I am not willing to write a $35,000 check to the Republican Party. … I understand you have to keep a club exclusive but I paid less for my black-market liver.”
I guess the Democrats didn’t think Colbert was serious enough, well I’m quite serious when I say I’m sick of voting for candidates who owe favors to all the wrong people. This is supposed to be a Government by and for the people, not a system paid for and run by big business, but that is what it’s become.
Colbert may have been mostly joking, but as far as I’m concerned the whole G-damned system has become such a joke he may have been the most viable candidate.
