Updates to Project Silence

You may have noticed a few things have changed around here at Project Silence. I’ve decided I really would like to get this site going again, and the only way to do that is to put some time into it. I would love the hear some feedback on what you like and don’t like, the usual ways work, you can email me or send me an @ on Twitter, I’m always anxious to hear from readers (and listeners)!

First of all, I’ve moved the User Control panel (for those of you that are registered) from the right side to the left, to make room for the return of asides (or Quick Bits as I like to call them). I’ve also cleaned up the templates code so images play nicely with WordPress 2.6. Eventually I would like to move to a more Magazine/Blog style layout to bring more attention to our features, like the Ettatorial and The Project Silence Podcast, but that will be in the future. Again, if you have theme suggestions you think may work, or are a theme creator, contact me! But, please, keep in mind the current budget for Project Silence is $0, just my time.

I’m also vowing to learn more about GIMP, to try and make some more interesting images for posts and finally update the album art for the podcast. I made the art we have quick and dirty and told myself, if we stick to this, I’ll come up with better art. Well, we’ve been doing the podcast for over a year now, I’d say it’s time. The image above was a first effort, not bad, eh? (actually it’s pretty awful, go ahead and say it)

So stick with us, it’s going to be an interesting ride and I would love it if more of our readers got involved, register, comment, email us, send me some Tweets, help me to make this a great, fun site for all things geeks would be interested in.
