Rock History Lesson: The Police
They just don’t make rock bands like they used to. I don’t intend this as an insult, there are a great many rock bands today that I really respect and enjoy listening to, but they rarely capture the rawness of a band like the Police, just three guys with instruments, no computers, no digital vocal enhancements, just kick ass music.
Here is the first time anyone heard Message in a Bottle, before the track had even been released, on a British television program entitled, Rock Goes to College.
To the modern day, with a live performance of Roxanne at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards.
YouTube is an amazing thing. How else would we be able to enjoy these performances that would otherwise be lost and forgotten? I really wish the RIAA realized that simple fact.
